breakfast coffee cakeIngredients

  • 1 ½ c. flour
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • 2 ½ t. baking powder
  • ¾ t. salt
  • ¼ c. shortening
  • ¾ c. milk
  • 1 egg
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease round layer pan 9X 1 ½ inches or square pan, 8X8X2 or 9X9X2 inches. Blend all ingredients for ½ minute. Spread in pan.
Topping:
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar packed
  • ¼ c. flour
  • ½ t. cinnamon
  • 3 T firm butter

Instructions

  1. Place all topping ingredients in bowl and cut through with 2 knives until crumbly. Sprinkle over batter in pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  2. Drizzle with glaze made from powdered sugar, vanilla, milk, butter.
  3. Serve warm.

cinnamon-rollsIngredients

Dough

  • 1 yeast cake or 1/4-ounce package yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1/2 T. sugar
  • 1 c. mik
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 2 eggs beaten well
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 4-6 cups flour

Filling

  • 1/4 -1/2 c. margarine
  • cinnamon sugar mixture
  • raisins (opt)
  • chopped walnuts (opt)
Glaze
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Mix yeast cake, warm water, and sugar in bowl.
  2. Scald milk in a pan and then let cool. Add sugar, 1/4 c. margarine, and eggs to milk. Milk should melt margarine.
  3. Pour milk mixture into yeast mixture. Add flour and salt and form a soft dough. Knead 10 minutes.
  4. Turn into greased bowl. Roll dough ’til greased on all sides.
  5. Raise dough ’til doubled,  about 1-1.5 hours covered.
  6. Roll out on table into a rectangle. Rub margarine on dough and sprinkle with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Raisins and walnuts are options too.
  7. Roll dough into a tub and then slice into rolls. Raise in greased pan for one hour.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until brown.
  9. Mix butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla glaze ingredients. Add milk one tablespoon at a time. Glaze should be thick, so you can frost rolls when hot.

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lg. onion chopped
  • 1 1/2 pkg taco seasoning
  • 29 oz. tomato sauce
  • 15 oz. corn
  • 15 oz. black beans
  • 15 oz. kidney beans
  • 15 oz. pinto beans
  • 3 – 14 oz. cans diced tomatoes
  • 4 1/2 cups water

Instructions

Brown ground beef with onion. Put all ingredients in a large pot. Simmer 30 minutes. Garnish with crushed white corn chips, sour cream, chopped avocado, grated cheddar cheese, sliced green onions. Serves 10-12.

It is actually called “Missionary Special” Dumplings.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup flour
    • 1/4 t. Salt
    • 1 1/2 t. Baking powder
    • 1/2 t. Poultry seasoning
    • 1/2 cup milk 1/8 cup oil
    • one round steak
    • large onion
    • 1 can of cream of chicken soup
    • 2 cup water

    Instructions

    1. Mix above ingredients together. Dip dumplings by teaspoons in melted butter and roll in bread crumbs.
    2. Take one round steak, pound it and cut it into 2-inch strips. Roll in flour seasoned with salt and pepper and paprika. Brown in oil.
    3. Cut large onion on meat. Pour in 1/2 cup water. Cover and sinner 30 minutes.
    4. Add 1 can of cream of chicken soup and 1 1/2 cups more water.
    5. Put in casserole dish. Add dumplings on top and bake at 425 degrees for at 25 minutes.

    • 1 head iceberg lettuce (washed and torn into bite size pieces)
    • 3 strips bacon (fried and diced)
    • 5 oz frozen peas, thawed
    • 1/4 t. Sugar
    • 1/2 t. Salt
    • 1/4 t. Pepper
    • 2 1/2 oz. Swiss cheese slices, cut in strips
    • 2/3 c. Chopped green onin
    • 1/4 c Mayo
    • 1/4 c Miracle Whip

    Instructions

    1. Put lettuce into salad bowl. Sprinkle with sugar, salt, and pepper.
    2. Add peas, cheese, onion, Mayo and mir whip.
    3. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight. Chill.
    4. Toss when ready to serve and garnish with bacon.

    • 1 c. Prepared Good Seasons Asian Sesame dressing, divided
    • 1 lb. Chicken breast, cut into strips
    • 2 T. Chunky peanut butter
    • 2 T. Honey
    • ½ tsp. Crushed red pepper
    • 8 oz. Thin spaghetti, cooked and drained
    • ¾ c. Shredded carrot (comes prepackaged)
    • ¾ c. Sliced green onions
    • ¼ c. Chopped cilantro (opt.)

    Instructions

    1. Pour 1/3 c. Of dressing over chicken in medium bowl. Toss to coat.
    2. Cover and refrigerate one hour to marinate.
    3. Drain, discard dressing.
    4. Mix remaining 2/3 c. Dressing, peanut butter, honey, and pepper set aside.
    5. Cook chicken in large skillet on medium-high heat about 8 minutes, until chicken is cooked through.
    6. Mix chicken, spaghetti, carrot, onions, and cilantro in large bowl. Serve immediately.

    Stuffed BreadsticksIngredients

    • Rhodes Texas Roll Dough, thawed until soft
    • Cream Cheese
    • Budding thin sliced lunch meat
    • Butter
    • Garlic Powder
    • Paprika

    Instructions

    1. Roll one piece of dough into a 3 ½” x 4” rectangle.
    2. Place cream cheese down the middle and 3 slices rolled meat overlapped.
    3. Roll, pinching sides together.
    4. Place on greased sheet and brush with melted butter and garlic powder. Sprinkle with paprika.
    5. Raise about 1 ½ hrs.
    6. Bake at 350 for 15- 20 min.

    • 12 oz Dean’s Zesty guacamole dip
    • 2 lg chopped tomatoes
    • 4.25 oz can chopped black olives
    • Sour cream spread: 1 pint Sour cream, 1/2 pkg taco seasoning, 1/2 c Mayo
    • Cheddar cheese, grated
    • Green onions, sliced thin

    Instructions

    1. Layer ingredients in the above order in a 9X13 glass casserole dish.
